Andrea Alecce Gianmarco Marcello

We are Andrea Alecce and Gianmarco Marcello, two students from University of Calabria (UNICAL, Italy), currently graduate students of the Master's deegrees in Computer Engineering and Electronic Engineering with a passion for self-imposed projects in our areas of study. Moody is a project born from our Bachelor's degree thesis works, in which we explored different topics that were used as the basis for the implementation of the various modules of the application.

The first aspect that we were interested in was the idea of realizing smart WSANs that could use the increase in computational power of Sensor/Actuator nodes: this is based on Gianmarco's work titled "A study on technological solutions for the analysis and classification of human activities based on M2M communication systems and models", in which Mist Computing (a paradigm in which sensors and actuators take part on the computation and decision-making) is used as a base for setting up self aware networks that can gain information about what happens in the environment in which they're set in.

Another important idea that gave birth to the project came from Andrea's thesis titled "IoT Technologies and Cognitive Networks supporting a smart ecosystem capable of determining human activity for improving the quality of life", that includes a thorough study on the usage of neural networks to infer information about closed environments through data collected by Sensor networks.

The two projects where thought as being two indipendent parts of a big one that represented the inception of Moody, which is based on the experiences and the applications developed during the months used to work on our theses.
